Alpha Clef Project is a multi-genre band in the Chicago area, playing different styles such as Funk, R&B, and Neo-Soul. The core band consists of drums, keyboards, guitar, and the bass guitar. The band was formed in September 2008 and now collaborates with one of Chicago’s finest soul duo, “The Ones”. “The Ones” is made up of the soulfully intense vocals of Yaw and Khari. Although the music of “The Ones” conjures up the spirits of soul legends past, their musical influences go way beyond the genre of soul and the sounds of Nina Simone, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Marley can still be heard.
Alpha Clef Project and “The Ones” have had the opportunity to perform at various venues in Chicago such as the Wild Hare, Close Up 2, Rumba, the Shrine and Goose Island to mention a few. They have also been featured at various festivals and events in the Chicago-land area. The difference in ethnic and musical backgrounds of the members of the Alpha Clef Project and the fusion of the genres in the sounds of “The Ones” delivers a groove that any heart naturally vibes with.
